It’s time I stuffed my face with…Japanese delights.
Following its success in London, Hongkong, Zuma has opened a restaurant in the busy DIFC of Dubai. The moment I stepped in the restaurant, I knew instantly that the chain is doing an amazing job. There were crowds of walk-ins attempting to get a table but there was hardly any empty seat (you must reserve a few days in advance!). My father, my sister and I were seated at the lower floor dining hall, in front of the opened kitchen. Above us, was a beautiful lounge. The place is finely designed and we were surrounded by sheer opulence.
We went for dinner and ordered the set menu (I don’t see that the dinner set menu is presented online anymore?). They surprised us with seven different dishes and courses. It is best you let the chef take you through the culinary journey of the contemporary Japanese cuisine. Japanese food is never just sushi as many people may have thought. It is the clever execution of seafood that maintains the freshness, the sophisticated creation of the accompanying sauce and the presentation that elevates, celebrates the food culture. Now if you take me back to Zuma, it would be one of the places that I would not look at the menu, but to let those magical hands decide what they would want to surprise me for the day.
Mind-blowing (I am so sorry I forgot the name of this dish)
Dining at Zuma came with a price. The price among the three of us was around AED 2,500. But hey, the experience was worth every penny. Zuma makes it to the top of my list for Japanese restaurants in Dubai. What are yours?
Anyways, so ratings for Zuma (when I rate a restaurant, I compare it to the restaurants in the similar category)
Food : 5/5 (such well-crafted menu)
Service: 5/5 (very prompt service despite the busy operation)
Wow, my first 15/15 🙂
Much love from Dubai,
