Bread Street Kitchen and Bar is a casual dining restaurant chain owned by world’s internationally renowned (also my all-time favourite) celebrity, Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay. It has been operational for a while at The Atlantis, The Palm. I have been waiting to taste the food there. Lucky for me, we got a confirmed booking on 20/01 before any press release when Gordon himself paid a visit to his kitchen in Dubai 🙂
When you entered the restaurant, it felt like you enter an English casual dining restaurant in London. Love the crowds, the fast-moving pace, the bar, the dining booths, and the ongoing conversations that make this place even more lively. Because it was Beef Wellington Wednesday with chef Gordon in the house, so we had to wait a while to be seated, but trust me it was worth the wait!
It was a set menu with three courses, starter, main course and dessert. The service was prompt hence table turnover must be very high (great for the restaurant’s top-line =P). The starter comprised of the chicken wings, tuna tartar and the quinoa. The quinoa was the hero of this starter course, one of the most flavourful quinoa dishes I have ever tasted! The chicken wing was marinated with tamarind which gave away an interesting texture.
And then, the moment we have been waiting for. I can still remember the feeling of butterflies in my stomach as the signature Beef Wellington was served. I tried my best to elongate the time, to chew on the medium-rare slice and the pastry wrap. The beef was juicy, well-balanced, but the best part is to dip it in the mouth-watering, dedicated truffle mash! #foodgasm!
Reason why it was worth the wait
The dessert finished strong with the sweet chocolate cheesecake balanced well with the mild vanilla ice-cream.
Anyways, so ratings for Bread Street Kitchen and Bar (when I rate a restaurant, I compare it to the restaurants in the similar category)
Food : 5/5 (quality is tip top but lack of variety)
Service: 3/5 (prompt service but we had to wait another 30 mins past our reservation time to get our table)
Oh and ….
With love from Dubai,
