Crowne Plaza has rewarded me with AED 350 voucher to spend at Cho Gao restaurant – one of the top trendy Pan-Asian places to dine in. I was very much impressed by the traditional yet contemporary interior design at Cho Gao. The spacing was neatly organised, makes all diners feel a sense of privacy yet lively.
Love the decor, make me feel like home. And the bird cages hanging above are simply creative.
Gotta love the porcelain and pottery – ceramic hand-made.
Generally, the A La Carte menu looks appealing with a wide range of Pan-Asian dishes from Vietnam, Thailand, and China. We took the brunch offer as it was only AED 158 inclusive of unlimited dim-sum (both steamed, and fried), various choices of salad (e.g duck salad, mango salad…) and 5 different main courses, desserts to choose from.
My fried selection of wontons and spring-rolls
My main dishes which include the Thai green curry and our additional signature Wasabi Prawns that we ordered on the side.
And the tiny shot glasses of mango sticky rice
Anyways, so ratings for Cho Gao (when I rate a restaurant, I compare it to the restaurants in the similar category)
Food : 3.5/5 (it’s lovely and I would definitely return if I live in Abu Dhabi, but not for driving from Dubai all the way here)
Design: 4/5
Service: 3/5 (staff need to take initiatives to clear the table)
Much love from Dubai,
Yung
