What do Millennials really search for in terms of accommodation? Some may search for luxury, others only focus on brands, but to be honest, the majority, like me, search for a well-crafted experience – perhaps a lifestyle approach. This is when Sol Beach House Phu Quoc entered the picture.
Sol Beach House is actually a lifestyle brand of Melia hotel, which in my opinion, is nothing like the corporate appeal of Melia. The brand is young, trendy. People don’t label a specific, traditional star category but rather seek an unforgettable experience when they book at Sol. I am proud to say that my selection of hotel has been once again successful. Sol Beach House delivered all these demanding qualities from us Millennials.
My friends and I visited Phu Quoc for a staycation and we were offered a great deal at Sol Beach House during their soft opening phase. The exterior is nothing spectacular but the interior is on-point. All hotel rooms, common areas, retail areas adhere to a consistent theme of white and blue – light colours which sooth our stressful days, place us in a relaxed, kind-of laid back mood.

We booked this beautiful gem during its soft opening phase so we did not have a lot of expectations. To our surprise, service was top-notch, staff were very well trained. All-day dining breakfast had a diverse option from Vienamese to Western cuisine. We also enjoyed a snack at Shack – streetfood style eatery in the resort, the simple design & chilled ambiance. Food was average and expensive.

Would I return to this resort? Definitely, it was value for money, especially now when the tourism in Phu Quoc is still developing, when the beach is still sandy and clean, when you can still order a cocktail and have a swim in the warm sea, before retiring to a sun lounger under a coconut palm.

Cleanliness: 3.5/5 (be aware of bugs and insects in the hallways, not the hotel’s fault, but more due to the location)
